John Holton is the author of ten publications including the award-winning short story collections Snowdropping and The Affairs of Men. He recently compiled and edited the book Raining Embers – Bendigo´s Black Saturday Experience to broad acclaim. He is also the creator of Storycatching, a set of 80 cards that combine text and illustration to encourage creativity and storytelling.

John´s stories, feature articles, poems and non-fiction works have been awarded both nationally and overseas. He is a regular presenter at professional writing courses, writers groups and festivals, where he shares his passion for creativity and his experience as a professional writer and editor.

John is a freelance writer, a journalist and feature writer, a teacher of professional writing and spent five years as the Senior Editor of a Central Victorian publishing house.

My experience as a Senior Editor and Project Manager means that I work respectfully and productively with authors, illustrators, graphic designers and print production workers. Rates

Rates vary depending on the scope of the project, but as a general rule of thumb, expect to pay between $40 and $50 per hour. This includes any research or preparation time needed, in addition to the actual writing and/or editing itself.
